A curated exhibition of elegant, luxurious and skilfully made objects. Nine artists and makers present a selection of exquisitely made artworks, produced in beautiful materials, using intricate, expertly applied techniques, from jewellery to engraved glass, ceramics and wood.
Highlights include pieces by: Robin Duttson, Tim Evershed, Paul Finch, Matt Horne, Alex McCarthy, Hugh Miller, Syann Van Niftrik, Ilona Sulikova and Nancy Sutcliffe.
Paul was born in Stourbridge, West Midlands in 1967. He was inspired to make jewellery during his travels in Asia and has been working as a self taught designer jeweller since 1998. He has been based in Southern France since 2009.
Paul uses a variety of techniques to create distinctive ranges of jewellery characterised by simplicity and elegance. A love of strong form is key to his work. He aims to create sculptural pieces in silver and gold combined with diamonds or gemstones in unusual settings. His use of diamonds in bold majestic settings creates indulgent and interesting pieces.
One collection contrasts texture with colour and features trapped within shell-like forms. In another, natural curving forms combine gemstones, and silver pieces are enhanced with 18ct gold beading. All collections feature a wide range of items such as rings, bangles, pendants and earrings.
Paul enjoys working with silver and semi-precious stones and also produces a number of items in 18ct gold including commissioned items such as wedding and engagement rings. The jewellery is designed with durability and comfort in mind and is complimentary to the wearer.
