The New Ashgate Gallery Trust is dedicated to promoting and selling contemporary fine art and craft. We are a non-profit making organisation and rely on sales from our exhibitions and donations from our clients to further our charitable aims.
As an educational charity, we promote contemporary visual arts and crafts to as wide a public as possible, through a programme of changing exhibitions, projects with artists, makers, projects of support and development delivered by the trust with local, regional and national partnerships and educational events. We deliver educational events including artist's workshops, professional practice seminars and school visits.

Collect Art & Craft with Own Art
Own Art is the Arts Council's interest free loan scheme for buying art and craft. Own Art Application is made with the customer in the gallery, and complete in 10 minutes. If you wish to avail of the service, please contact the gallery for terms and conditions.
Angels and Patrons: Friendship Scheme
The friends receive special benefits. Patrons receive:
- Invitations to preview evenings of new exhibition with complimentary drinks with artists and staff
- Quarterly newsletters about forthcoming events and featuring interviews with artists and makers
- Priority invitations to special events and sales.
In addition to the above, an Angel member receives a 10% discount
on arts purchases made for the entire year, excluding books, magazines, cards and a limited number of loans from other venues. Angels and Patrons also have the right to vote on Rising Stars, the Graduate Exhibition Patrons & Angels Prize, that is awarded to the most promising upcoming artist. The Patron membership is £25; the Angel membership costs £60 per year.
Jeweller Ruta Brown: Artist in Residence
A wide range of Ruta Brown's work is available and may be viewed in the gallery Jewellery Room and Ruta's studio on the first floor.
Call for Rising Stars applications is now closed. Many thanks for all who applied. We had over 80 applications from emerging artists and makers, promising an exciting and strong exhibition in April 2012.
