Myung Nam An Ceramics

The New Ashgate Gallery is thrilled to be showcasing stunning ceramics by Myung Na An. Based in London, Myung Nam An's incredibly intricate and detailed ceramics are beautiful, bright, colourful, exciting, funky and very desirable. As you enter the gallery, you are greeted by an imposing beetle adorning the wall, at first you are apprehensive then immediately you are drawn to the exquisite detail. You immediately want to touch, then spot that each spine on the beetle is not tactile silicone, but individual ceramic pieces.

As you explore the rest of the gallery, you see spots of vibrant colour on the walls, at first you think flowers, then upon closer inspection could they are eyes or sea anemones, each viewer creates their own interpretation.

Myung says: ''By working with ceramics and using colour, it is my hope to marry the beautiful form with imagery that subtly informs or confronts the viewer to think about a larger issue - to ignite the thought provoking process. It is my goal to address people's ideals and thoughts about what is beautiful and to try and encourage the viewer to investigate and hopefully question or think about issues that are taking place all around us''.

This is an exhibition not to be missed and one that will inspire
