Ken Eardley

Biography

Ken Eardley, a Brighton-based artist, is renowned for his distinctive hand-built functional ceramics, celebrated for their striking retro patterns and whimsical charm. Drawing inspiration from Scandinavian folk art, Ken's designs are both playful and graphic, making his work highly collectible and popular among art enthusiasts.

Beginning his artistic journey in textiles, Ken seamlessly transitioned to ceramics, bringing with him a keen sense of color and pattern. His extensive range includes mugs, jugs, vases, plates, bowls, and a new line of lamps, all meticulously crafted from hand-made glazed earthenware. Utilising press-moulds and hand-cut stencil decoration, each piece undergoes three firings, ensuring vibrant and durable finishes.

Ken's ceramics are not only functional but also a reflection of his unique sense of humor, infusing everyday objects with a touch of joy and creativity. His work stands out for its bold, graphic appeal and retro aesthetic, making it a delightful addition to any kitchen or interior.

Ken Eardley's dedication to craftsmanship and his playful artistic vision have established him as a beloved figure in the contemporary ceramics scene, with his pieces continuing to captivate and inspire collectors and admirers alike.
