Holly is a small batch ceramic homeware designer that enjoys creating luxurious and functional tableware for the home. Steeped in history, clay has challenged her to focus on the balance between handmade and large-scale manufacturing to which the industry is infamous. Her inspiration stems from the need to make each piece work unique with mark making inspired by insects with their lustrous bodies. From every angle the Lustrous collection is viewed, it catches the eye with unique toned brush marks of lustre; no too vases are the same.
The Lustrous collection is a sleek formed tableware collection that aims to catch attention with its bold accentuated forms and selective tones/ metallic elements. Inspired by beetles, Lustrous highlights the unique variety of species with their eye-catching/ rivetingly bold features. The soft curve of their abdomens versus their structurally rigid legs has fascinated Holly to explore the form of insects. Lustrous has been refined through sustained sketches, refined over time to a particular key feature Holly believes is strong and imperatively takes on an identity of its own.
Holly is based in Leicester.
