Su Jameson: UNASHAMED

Su Jameson, A Word, 2024

6 July to 7 September 2024

Su Jameson: UNASHAMED

'UNASHAMED' is a profound exploration into the human experience through the medium of hand-built ceramics. At its core lies the narratives of individuals, both unique and universal, whose stories serve as the inspiration for each meticulously crafted piece.

Throughout the creative process, Su seeks to foster physical and emotional exchanges, responding intuitively to the materials and the underlying narrative. Each ceramic form is imbued with layers of meaning and texture, inviting viewers to engage in contemplation and individual interpretation.

Expression is pursued through a variety of stoneware clays, including porcelain, black, and crank, each chosen for its unique qualities. These clays are manipulated using slab and direct modeling techniques, with marks and textures impressed upon them to evoke a sense of raw authenticity.

As the collection takes shape, Su draws inspiration from earthy hues, employing slips, engobes, oxides, and glazes to enhance the surfaces and imbue them with depth and character. The culmination of these elements promises to evoke a sense of connection and resonance, inviting viewers to explore the nuances of human emotion and experience.

Trevor Price: Printed Perspectives

6 July to 7 September 2024

Trevor Price: Printed Perspectives

Trevor Price's artistic journey serves as profound reflections of his life experiences and artistic influences. Born in 1966 and raised in Cornwall, Trevor's trajectory as a printmaker began with formal education in Printmaking at Falmouth and Winchester School of Art. His artistic evolution took root during his formative years spent in St. Ives, where he absorbed the creative ethos of the coastal town, influenced by renowned artists like Ben Nicholson and William Scott.

Returning to London after his time in Cornwall, Price worked in a traditional etching studio. Drawing from the intimate landscapes of St. Ives and inspired by the works of Picasso, Henry Moore, and others, Trevor's prints delve into themes of human connection and personal introspection. His prints, often drypoints on zinc or Perspex, capture the nuances of everyday life, from moments of intimacy to the common obsessions of humanity, and most recently by exploring the landscape around us. Through experimentation and a diverse range of techniques, Trevor imbues his prints with a depth of emotion and narrative complexity that resonate with viewers worldwide.

Trevor has been a member of the Royal Society of Painter Printmakers since 1991 and is the former Vice President. His work is found in many prestigious collections, including those of the Victoria and Albert Museum, Yale University, and more. With over fifty solo exhibitions and numerous awards to his name, including the Printmaking Today award and the Clifford Chance award, Trevor's artistic innovation continues to shape the landscape of contemporary printmaking.
