Samantha Yates, who works under the pseudonym Lil' Rabbitfoot, is a celebrated glass artist based in West Yorkshire. She creates beautiful glass flowers and foliage, inspired by her belief in the profound value of kindness, love, and care. Samantha's pieces are rich in character, blending a sense of naivety and fun that reflects her deep appreciation for the natural world and its simple, joyful beauty.
Utilising copperfoil techniques, Samantha explores the material and technical boundaries of glass art, bringing glass to life through light. Her background in Environmental Science, the Waste Management industry, and 15 years of teaching Horticulture significantly influence her work. Currently, she is furthering her expertise by studying Stained Glass Conservation at York University. The interplay of light and glass captivates her, revealing the true beauty of color and evoking an emotional response of joy.
Since launching her stained glass art company, Lil' Rabbitfoot, in 2018, Samantha has exhibited her work widely and in 2020, she gained national recognition as the joint winner of a competition to design a commissioned artwork for a wedding, featured on the BBC series "Home is Where the Art Is."
Samantha Yates's dedication to her craft and her unique approach to stained glass art continue to captivate and inspire, bringing the beauty and joy of the natural world into everyday life.
