Hilary has been painting and making her own particular jewellery for over 25 years, during which time her outlets have included the Guggenheim - New York, Liberty of London and numerous Galleries in Japan, Europe and the U.K.
She took her degree in Fine Art and has evolved in her own unique way of making jewellery through her love of painting and her interest in the colours of particular places.
She travels and paints, takes photos, makes drawings and writes. When back in her studio, she cuts some paintings into fragments and makes jewellery - fragments of paintings under resin. Some fragments lend themselves to further exploration in terms of pattern and design.
At present, she makes the following - they are One-of-a-Kind.
1. Paper-Mé Jewellery, an artisan product that resembles enamel. Fragments of my paintings set on paper-mé and sealed under resin, creating layers & depth using opaque, transparent & iridescent inks with gold and silver leaf and metal foils.
2. Sterling Silver Jewellery - made with fragments of my paintings set in silver and sealed with resin, creating inner light and movement when worn - highlighting areas where iridescent, transparent and opaque colours combine.
