Fiona Pearce: Artist in Focus

Meet & Greet with Fiona on Saturday 10th September, 3-4 - all welcome

"Fiona Pearce portrays local landscape like no other. The vibrant energy of her paintings transforms any space. They are your perfect painting at home."

In this exhibition, we are delighted to introduce Fiona's new technique that pioneers the language of landscape painting in the 21st century.

Fiona's innovative collection of paintings was initially crafted on the iPad, breaking the imagery down into shapes, with the composition being key, and taking time over the palette combinations. When Fiona is happy with the result, she applies layers of paint, mixing the palette on the canvas with as broad a brush stroke as possible. This produces Fiona's signature style: the vibrant landscape that she refers as "organised chaos and energy". The further painting process includes the application of trees, which brings a sense of order and balance to the painting, making them so distinctly unique and recognisable as "Fiona Pearce paintings".

Fiona Pearce

Born in Guildford, Fiona studied Art at what was then known as the West Surrey College of Art and Design here in Farnham.

She works mainly in acrylic, applying thick layers with credit cards, fingers and occasionally a brush from her studio in Upper Farringdon. Her work is inspired by the beautiful local countryside where she walks daily with her dog. Her love of colours and use of space on the canvas is what excites her the most about painting.

Fiona's goal is to make her paintings come alive, using colours that bring her energy on to the canvas. She sees the world in a geometric format, breaking down images into shapes before translating that on to canvas.
