Adele lived and worked in the South France between 1998-2014 then returned to Surrey ,now living and working in Chiddingfold .
Adele's process of making is predominantly coiling and slabbing , the surfaces of which are usually burnished followed by a low bisque firing . The forms are then saggar fired in a gas kiln using a mixture of sulphates ,salts and other organic matter , she uses both stoneware and paper clay for her forms.
Adele says "There is always something new to discover in the process of making ceramics ... which is why I love being a potter . Influences in my work are many and varied , nature and travel are my prime source material. I love nothing more than beach combing , finding a interesting pebble, fossil or piece of driftwood , my special finds from the sea, these objects give an endless source of inspiration for my work ."
Having previously used some paper clay in her work , Adele decided earlier this year to experiment with this particular clay in further detail and discovered some of its amazing properties . This recent body of work is made entirely of paper clay and fired once only to a mid range temperature
