Brian Denyer-Baker

Biography

Since 1995 Brian has been devoted full time to printmaking and painting, working from his studios and workshop on Ditchling Common. Brian is a landscape painter, working mainly in oils, preferring to work in situ whenever possible, or working from sketches made on site. He finds this an interesting stimulation for his printmaking work as well. Brian works on a single plate, incorporating all the colours onto the same plate by inking "A la poupee", which gives a much softer and more atmospheric affect, than printing from separate plates for each colour.

In 1958 Brian studied Fine Art & Design at Brighton College of Art under Raymond Cowern RA RE. Brian went on to win a scholarship to the Royal College of Art and now has work in private collections throughout the UK, The Middle East, Europe, Australia and the United States.
