Nature is my primary muse. My aim is to communicate the fragile beauty of nature ensuring that the same qualities are present in my glass. I have a palette of colour building on clear glass as a painter would build on a blank canvas. Vibrant rich colours are combined to create unique pieces with many depths and facets displaying a spectrum of colours that shimmer and change. Deep blue is married with sea greens. Rods, chips, powders, gold and silver leaf is all used to produce this individual work.
I graduated from Farnham with a BA Honours in Three Dimensional Design in glass and continued my journey into working with this magical medium by becoming the artist-in-residence for two years.
This role enabled me to continue making my own work and also to teach hot and cold glass making processes to students studying on the Three Dimensional Design and Postgraduate courses. In addition I hosted Master Classes in collaboration with American glass artist Ron Rogers on Venetian style stemware, carried out my own commissions and assisted other artists in this field.
