Rebecca was born in Kendal, Cumbria.
Early experiences of making thumb pots from river clay sparked Rebecca's empathy for her medium, encouragement and working with clay throughout school contributed to her dream of applying to art school.
In 1990 she attended Glasgow School of Art, specialising in Ceramics and Graduating in 1994 with a BA (Honours) Design.
Rebecca is inspired by universal human intrigue (what is beyond the edge of the Universe?), and our private rituals (coffee at 11, tea at 4...) which help us to make sense of things.
In choosing to make the functional objects she does, Rebecca hopes to go a little way towards enhancing the latter, to give pleasure to the user, and to pass on the unique, almost meditative moment in which it was created.
Since setting up her first studio in Cumbria 1995, Rebecca has enjoyed appreciation throughout the UK as well as abroad, and is now resident Studio potter at Farfield Mill.
