Spoons and bowls are thrown and decorated in a spontaneous response to each thrown shape. The spoons are made from tiny thrown bowls these are then attached to pulled handles. Decoration is done by scratching in patterns and filling the scratches with colour then glazing over the top of this. The new work I have developed has been an exploration of layering decoration techniques. One piece could include drawn and scratched lines, slip drawings, colour inlay, various glazes and lustre or enamel over the top. The new work is about creating different textured drawn and painted surfaces and extends from a love of drawing, collage and printing. Currently the form of this work is flat tiles, spoons and bowls. These pieces are fired 2, 3, or 4 times depending on the decoration.
