Claudine's first experience with pottery was in a class led by Lucy Burley in 2010 at the Westend Centre in Aldershot. She still takes part in hand-building and throwing classes, but her sold work is slip cast. She typically uses moulds she has commissioned and helped develop as she is one half of The Ceramafacturers partnership, working closely with Ian Siragher. They are both members of the Craft Potters Association.
Her initial sold pieces were colourfully decorated small bottles or bud vases in a variety of shapes. Her mountain range of trinket holders demonstrates her skill at slip casting and fettling, as well as a fresh and original approach to glazing. The pieces she makes are tactile, both decorative and functional, and aim to initially prompt a smile from onlookers and customers.
Claudine combines her ceramic work with being a foreign languages teacher, and a commitment to keeping fit.
