Biography

As a ceramicist I work mainly with slip cast porcelain. I love experimenting with this ceramic process, drizzling and layering slip to create sometimes subtle texture, at other times dramatic bursts of colour. I then scratch designs into the clay, adding under-glazed detail.

The focus of my work is subtle energies and translating these into form, with my 'Black Light' collection looking at the balance between the masculine and feminine. When there is a lack of balance between these energies the result is a sense of separation. One of the challenging aspects of allowing creative feminine energies a voice is that they can feel chaotic, and beyond our control. My designs convey aspects of these two energies. The personal journey of seeking a balance between these forces leads us to the energetic known as Black Light, allowing these polarities to form a sacred relationship.
