Angie Mehew

Biography

In the fifteen years since graduating from Central Saint Martins, Angie designed for a number of well known fine and demi-fine jewellery brands. However, she always missed the making process and hoped to start her own range of jewellery one day. After starting a family and a move to Surrey, this became a possibility.

Influences include abstract and modern artists such as Ellsworth Kelly, Matisse, Helen Frankenthaler and Patrick Heron, mid century modern interiors and inspiring colour palettes.

Angie's jewellery is handcrafted in her Surrey studio, using Jesmonite and sterling silver. The new collection consists mainly of earrings, pendants and necklaces with some rings and bracelets. It is entirely handmade and has a fresh, contemporary feel, using bold, graphic shapes, carved and cast with colour-saturated Jesmonite which feels tactile with a smooth matte finish.

Angie loves to carve and was drawn to casting with resin. Jesmonite is a water-based resin which is safe to use and contains no solvents or VOC's. Using primary colour pigments she is able to mix Jesmonite to any colour, making bespoke colour palette orders possible.
