Lynn Pascoe is strongly influenced by the countryside and the way in which it affects our general well being. Living in central Cornwall, her rural environment is reflected here, in this exhibition, by her love of trees, showing both their strength and timeless qualities as well as associations we may have with them.
Specialising in fine-art printmaking, Lynn has 're-found' an early photographic process and, by using current techniques and some lateral thinking, given it a modern twist. Cyanotypes (also known as sun-prints) are exposed and developed without the use of a camera, so that each one is unique. Lynn creates these powerful pieces using acetate 'negatives' and/or found natural objects. By exploring and embracing the variability of the process, she gives it her own personal touch.
