Ulli Kaiser takes a new contemporary approach to bead crochet.
She studied Art Education and Textile Art in Austria. Her love of different creative techniques, colours and material diversity links all her work and projects. Ulli taught herself the old technique of bead crochet, but enjoys using it with conventional glass Rocaille beads as well as other, unusual materials too, such as coloured wood, shells, antique facetted metal beads and tiny gemstones. By combining the crocheted snakes and shapes with handmade silver vessels she has added another, more narrative dimension to her jewellery. Ulli finds inspiration in the materials themselves, in old botanical studies and photographs, and in relating found objects to myths and legends. All her work evolves while making and every piece is unique.
Her jewellery invites to touch: organic shapes in silver and gold, soft and feminine; an array of rich, harmonious colours sure to make you smile.
