Tim Evershed is a designer and craftsman whose work is defined by timeless design, durability, thoughtful detail and quality material. His career combines a background in product design and cabinetmaking.
Inspired by English Windsor chair vernacular, Danish mid-century design and the American Shaker movement Tim interprets historical and archetypal forms for contemporary living, using both traditional woodworking techniques and digital craft practices.
Tim works with interior designers, architects and private clients. Projects range from bespoke furniture commissions and small batch production runs crafted at his studio in Hampshire, to public art and commercial interiors, employing his design expertise to realise large scale projects in collaboration with UK based manufacturers.
Sustainability is important to Tim, who sources timber from local tree surgeons and sawmills across the South of England. Some of this timber, he air dries himself on-site, ensuring complete ownership of the furniture making process.
Tim is alumni of the Crafts Councils' renowned Hot House programme and sells work through galleries and retailers nationwide and internationally. He has also held practical demonstrations on the subject of Craftsmanship at universities and is an active participant on the Young Furniture Maker's committee.
