Emily Faludy

On a rainy November in 2009, an impulse to paint outdoors found Emily in a soggy field in Kent, paintbrush in hand. It was very cold. It was wet. She was exhilarated and she was hooked!

Since then she has painted in a variety of climates and environments, from Greek mountains to French seashores, via English bluebell woods and urban cityscapes. She always paints in oils - the draw is their flexibility and the richness of the colours that can be achieved. As a plein air painter, Emily feels honoured that her role is to hold up a mirror to the beauty of the world in all its myriad manifestations; she finds that this is best conveyed through capturing the sense of light and atmosphere unique to each time and location.
