Richard Jack

Originally from Zimbabwe Richard Jack has lived in Farnham since 2002. He started painting and sculpting in South Africa in 1975 and has exhibited regularly since in Southern Africa and internationally. Public commissions have been produced in Zimbabwe, Germany, Denmark and in the UK.

For many years Richard has worked with 3 basic materials - wood, stone and steel - generally figurative works interspersed with abstract ideas. Contrasts of form, material and surface reflect the ambiguities of existence: the combination of strength and fragility, timelessness and the passage of time, the individual and the family in an ever changing world.
