Liz Clay

Liz Clay is an internationally renowned textile artist who specialises in handmade felt for haute couture and other high-end niche markets. She uses a unique felting technique to create light, paper-like fabrics to make innovative, one-off accessories and her signature Boa design that has earned her a growing reputation in the fashion world. Her work has featured in Vogue and has been commissioned by Givenchy and Stella McCartney. Recipient of a Crafts Council Award in 2004 she has since won several UK Trade & Investment export awards, her work sells in Japan, Dubai, the US and throughout Europe. She has a passion for using locally sourced wool in her felt designs and has developed a collection of unique Wool Paper panels that exploit the variety and superb qualities of English wools.
She is an experienced teacher and university lecturer, author of Nuno Felt, a book devoted to this fascinating felt making technique.
