Lucy studied ceramics at Wimbledon and Camberwell art schools, graduating in 1996. In 2000 she moved out of London and now works from a farmyard studio in the Hampshire countryside, from which she makes her range of ceramics. She sells via galleries, shops and craft fairs.
Vases and bowls: Inspired by the colours of the sky, the seashore, plants and trees. These are thrown on the wheel using white earthenware clay, and then glazed in a variety of finishes: a fine sand-textured matt earthenware glaze; a semi-matt glaze with the texture of eggshell, and a clear glossy glaze. A white opaque glaze is also poured into the vases, making them water-tight. Lucy uses a wide palette of colours, some subtle, others more vivid, depending on season and inspiration. Some examples are: pale turquoise, slate grey, lavender blue, sky blue, pistachio green, golden green, pea green and sea green.
