Biography

I am a Japanese ceramicist based in London. I graduated from Harrow, University of Westminster in 2008. My work ranges from small object to installation, but at the moment I am enjoying making tableware on the wheel.

For the tableware I get inspiration from both Asian European potteries. Currently I am particularly interested in the techniques that are used in Korean and Japanese potteries. Shinogi is fluting, Mishima is inlaying, and both have a particular style in my country. By applying them to European shapes I'm trying to create modern yet earthy feel to my pieces.
