Virginia Ray

Virginia continues to explore the landscape of Nidderdale, North Yorkshire. Virginia's family have lived and worked on this landscape for generations and it is where Virginia has a great sense of identity and belonging.

Through observation and research which involves interviewing locals, along with incorporating materials gathered from the landscape itself, Virginia seeks to create an interwoven layering of local history with memory, using the texture and colour of the landscape.

Virginia has a MA in Fine Art from the University for the Creative Arts, a BA Hons in History and works as a freelance artist at the Watts Gallery, in Surrey. Her work has been exhibited in galleries in Surrey, London, Yorkshire, Norfolk and Ibiza.
