Louise Davies

Biography

Louise Davies, a professional Painter and Printmaker from London, is distinguished as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers. Davies specialises in creating vibrant landscapes through prints and oil paintings, characterised by a dynamic use of colour and fluid lines. Her studio in South East London serves as the creative hub where she produces original editions. Her clientele spans both domestic and international markets, with her artworks adorning public spaces as well as private residences.

Davies' artistic style, known for its intense layers of translucent colour and shifting shapes, is inspired by her upbringing in the West Country and her subsequent move to London. She infuses her work with a romantic palette to capture the beauty of nature, portraying scenes such as sunrises, storms, and calm waters. Her London pieces often feature buildings illuminated by vibrant skies, adding a sense of magic to the urban landscape. The Thames river is depicted with neon tones, reflecting the mood of each image, while lines provide structure and stability to the compositions.

Throughout her body of work, Davies demonstrates a deep appreciation for the environment, with her mastery of various techniques evident in her intuitive use of media. She holds a Fine Art degree from Central Saint Martins and a Master's in Printmaking from Camberwell College of Art. Currently residing and working in south east London, Davies continues to captivate audiences with her evocative and colourful interpretations of the world around her.
