"I have lived abroad for many years in Europe, Africa and the Middle East, and whenever possible I have worked with local artists, absorbing their influences and ways of looking. I am interested in the atmosphere and the feeling surrounding certain places and events and try to record those moments when, like a film still, you feel you are viewing a situation from outside - a 'sightbite' - before the scene begins to move again."
