Amanda Hoskin Work by this artist

Artist Statement

Amanda Hoskin lives and works in her native Cornwall where the varied landscape and coastline provide a constant source of inspiration. The frequent changes in the weather and their effect on the landscape capture her imagination.

After art school, Hoskin became a freelance wildlife illustrator, working and living in London, but began to miss Cornwall. In the early 1990s she returned and at first worked as a sailing instructor mainly at Mylor on the beautiful Fal Estuary. She continued to paint, but changed medium from watercolour to oil. Her style became far freer and she began to concentrate on the changing skies and landscapes around her. Now painting full-time, Hoskin has established herself as one of the leading landscape artists in Cornwall with a growing following around the UK.
