A response to a sense of place characterised Keith New's earlier work. Although 'place' still dominates his subject matter, especially where man has re-arranged nature or added significantly to it, Keith's approach has slowly changed. He feels a wilful urge to transcend the subject completely. Possibly a move towards greater abstraction or perhaps a desire to pare down the image to a point where form, content and feeling are held in luminous equilibrium. Keith's stained glass may be seen in Coventry Cathedral's nave windows.
